We recognized students for their hard work, growth, leadership, and positive character throughout the year. A special congratulations to all of our students who achieved Perfect Attendance this school year — what an incredible accomplishment!
We also recognized one boy and one girl from each classroom with the Coyote Spotlight Award for consistently demonstrating positive leadership and being great role models within our school community.
Another fun highlight was our Paw Slip estimation contest! Harrison Tschetter came incredibly close with a guess of 15,000 paw slips collected during the school year, with the actual total coming in at 15,044! Great job, Harrison!
We also want to congratulate Tacey Rupp, this year’s recipient of the Gutzon Borglum Award. This award recognizes a student who has found success through perseverance, determination, and never giving up, even when things become difficult. We are proud of Tacey and all she has accomplished.
While we were disappointed that the thunderstorm forced us to cancel our annual Flag Lowering Ceremony, we are incredibly thankful for the amazing year we shared together at Corral Drive.
Thank you to our students, staff, and families for a wonderful school year. We hope everyone has a safe, relaxing, and fun summer break enjoying the warm months ahead. We will miss our Coyotes! 🐺

As a fun tribute, staff dressed in outfits that matched their coffee mugs — a tradition Mrs. Beckman was known for. We also presented her with a special booklet created by both staff and students filled with memories, kind words, and appreciation for all she has meant to our school community.
Mrs. Beckman has dedicated so many years to serving the students, families, and staff at Corral Drive with high expectations, care, creativity, and heart. She has helped create meaningful traditions, strong relationships, and lasting memories for countless students along the way. We'll miss you Mrs. Beckman!

Theo Barbour joined me as our “Junior Principal for the Day” after winning the experience during our PTA Basket Auction at Bingo Night a couple months ago. Theo spent the morning helping with principal duties, visiting classrooms, and getting a behind-the-scenes look at some of the work that goes into running a school each day.
As fellow fans of The Office, Theo’s family even provided matching shirts for the occasion! I may have been the “Regional Manager,” but Theo did a great job serving as the “Assistant to the Regional Manager!”
Thanks again to Theo and his family for being great sports and supporting our school community.

We had a great time celebrating our staff this week at Corral Drive!
A big shoutout to Ms. Michelle and Ms. Lisa for bringing the fun with their teacher trolley—loaded with goodies, drinks, supplies, and even a Plinko board for some extra prizes! They did an awesome job spreading some appreciation throughout the building.
We’re also incredibly thankful to the Rapid City Public School Foundation for supporting our staff through a grant that made the trolley possible.
A huge thank you to our PTA for everything they did to celebrate our staff throughout the week—they truly went above and beyond. We are so grateful for their support!
Most of all, we want to recognize our entire Corral Drive staff. We are so grateful for the time, energy, and heart they pour into our students every single day. Our school is a special place because of them!

One of Mrs. Schroeder’s favorite traditions has always been creating kindergarten class t-shirts featuring stick figure drawings of each student and their classmates. This year, our staff surprised her by creating a special retirement version with stick figure drawings of the Corral Drive staff!
It was such a fun day seeing former students wear their old kindergarten shirts again while staff proudly wore the special retirement shirts throughout the building. The smiles, memories, and love shared today were a reflection of the lasting impact Mrs. Schroeder has had on generations of students and families.
Thank you, Mrs. Schroeder, for the joy, care, and traditions you brought to Corral Drive. You will be greatly missed! 🐾

What an awesome morning at Corral Drive! We loved seeing so many of our students riding their bikes to school and starting the day with energy and excitement.
A big thank you to our staff, parents, and local police officers who helped along the route to make sure everyone stayed safe. Because of your support and teamwork, all of our riders arrived safely and had a great time!
Moments like these are what make our school community so special—students being active, families involved, and everyone working together.
Check out some of the great moments from the ride!

This habit is all about taking care of ourselves so we can be our best—physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. Students who “sharpen the saw” make time to learn, grow, stay active, build positive relationships, and find balance in their daily lives.
These students have done an outstanding job showing what it means to take care of themselves and continue improving each day. We are proud of the example they set for others!
Congratulations to our April Leaders of the Pack!

Our 3rd–5th grade students will begin state testing (SBAC) this week, April 27th–May 1st.
You can help set your child up for success by making sure they get a good night’s sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, and arrive at school on time each day, ready to go. These small steps make a big difference in helping students feel focused and confident.
We’ve been preparing all year, and this is a great opportunity for students to show what they know. We encourage everyone to simply do their best and take pride in their effort.
In addition, all students will be completing our end-of-year district Acadience and MAP assessments the week of May 4th.
Thank you for your continued support!

Last night, RCAS celebrated the Evening of Excellence, recognizing the top 5% of graduating seniors for their outstanding academic achievements. A special part of the evening allows each student to honor a teacher who made a lasting impact on their educational journey—and we are proud to share that four of those students chose teachers from our Corral Drive community.
Mrs. Beckman was honored by Emma Kinyon, Mrs. Braun was honored by Kailee Olson, Mrs. Albrecht was honored by Aya Kuroiwa, and Mrs. Schroeder was honored by Madison Marsh.
This recognition speaks volumes about the lasting influence our teachers have on students—not just during their time at Corral Drive, but for years beyond. The relationships built, the encouragement given, and the foundation established in elementary school truly make a difference.
We are incredibly grateful to have such dedicated and impactful educators as part of our Corral Drive family. Thank you for the role you play in shaping the lives and futures of our students.
Congratulations as well to these outstanding students on earning the distinction of being in the top 5% of their graduating class. What an incredible accomplishment and reflection of their hard work, dedication, and perseverance.

Synergize means working together to achieve more than we could on our own. Our students showed this by collaborating with others, listening to different ideas, and contributing positively to their teams.
As we look ahead, our next focus will be on the habit Sharpen the Saw. This habit is all about taking care of ourselves—physically, socially, emotionally, and academically—so we can be our best each day. It reminds us of the importance of balance, rest, and continuous growth.
We are proud of these students for the leadership they are showing and the example they set for others.
